Charles River® News & Updates
Note from Spiros Giannaros, President & CEO
As the year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on 2023 and update you on what’s ahead for 2024.
This has been a year of significant progress in terms of product delivery and implementations. We’re continuing to transition customers to the cloud, with about 130 live, over 40 in progress, and 30 new customer implementations. We have expanded capabilities across our front office, middle office, and wealth offerings, delivering 97% of our planned enhancements. Additionally, we undertook a platform optimization program to improve efficiency, reduce incidents, and enhance resiliency and performance. Looking ahead to 2024, some of the product areas where we will focus include OTC derivatives, cash management, cloud-native IBOR, compliance, and more.
With so much expansion in our product and platform capabilities, you may want to consider Charles River IMS training for your employees. Our online learning platform, CRD Academy, has flexible scheduling and self-paced options and you can use discretionary hours for training. If you want to know more, reach out to our Educational Services team or your Client Manager.
We’re continuing to bring you more opportunities to meet in person with us and with your peers– we hosted Client Connect events in the spring and fall in New York, Boston and London. These events were well-attended and the feedback from attendees has been extremely positive. We are looking to host more live events in 2024 – stay tuned.
We welcomed a new CTO in September. Vladimir Mitvesky has over 25 years of experience in global roles, including being a CTO, CIO, and a technology operations and product leader in various industries. Vladimir is a hands-on individual who has been responsible for everything from customer-facing product development to operations, support, cloud services, and on-prem infrastructure. His unique skills have allowed him to stay connected with customers and invent, solve, and build new cutting-edge technology. We’re excited to have him on the team and look forward to his contributions.
In October, we marked an important milestone – the fifth anniversary of State Street’s acquisition of Charles River and the launch of State Street Alpha. We’ve experienced a great deal of change and growth during that time – assets managed on the platform have grown from $25 trillion to$58 trillion, we’ve nearly doubled the number of employees, and have seen double digit business growth. As your trusted partner, we appreciate your support along this journey and we remain committed to delivering the best capabilities and services to you.
2023 was quite a year and I want to thank you for your ongoing partnership and active engagement with us. I’m looking forward to kicking off 2024 and further collaborations. Once again, from all of us at Charles River, Happy Holidays to you, your family, and friends.

Client Connect Recap
Thank you to all of our clients who attended our Client Connect events in Boston and London this fall! We were pleased to welcome Boston event attendees to State Street’s new headquarters at One Congress Street, with over 100 clients from nearly 50 firms in attendance to hear the latest company updates, recent and upcoming product enhancements, as well as a session on artificial intelligence and a fireside chat with clients sharing their experiences using Charles River IMS. In London, 100 clients from nearly 50 firms joined Charles River executives and product experts at Canary Wharf with a similar agenda as Boston.
We were thrilled to connect and engage with many of you in person and we’re looking forward to similar Client Connect events in 2024. Stay tuned for information and details!
