Chief Executive Officer
John Plansky is chief executive officer of Charles River Development (CRD), a subsidiary of State Street. John oversees the new global front-to-back platform which integrates State Street’s back- and middle-office capabilities with CRD’s front-office expertise. John is also an executive vice president and head of State Street Global Exchange, which includes the DataGX® data servicing and truView risk analytics businesses.
John has a history of leading global teams, growing businesses and integrating teams with different capabilities and skill sets to produce better outcomes. He joined State Street from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he led the US Strategy and Global Platforms businesses. John was also a member of the PwC Advisory Financial Services leadership team.
Prior to the acquisition of Booz & Co. by PwC, John was a senior partner at Booz & Co. where he led the technology practice and advised global financial institutions such as State Street. Prior to that role, John was CEO of NerveWire and orchestrated the company’s sale to Wipro, where he subsequently oversaw their global capital markets business.
John has a Bachelor of Science in Biophysics from Brown University.
Spiros Giannaros is an executive vice president at State Street Corporation and president of Charles River Development, a State Street company. In this role, he is responsible for day-to-day operations of the company including product development, sales and services for the Charles River Investment Management Solution (Charles River IMS). Spiros also leads the design and buildout of the target state architecture for State Street Alpha℠.
Most recently, Spiros was head of Platform Strategies at State Street. Prior to that, he served as the Global Head of Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and a Partner at IHS Markit (formerly Markit). In this role, he was responsible for the firm’s EDM, warehouse and reporting businesses, software managed services, and the thinkFolio business, an order management and portfolio modeling system. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Spiros spent 15 years at Charles River Development where he was a Managing Director for the Americas, Vice President of Sales, Sales Executive, and Director of Pre -Sales. In these roles, he was responsible for sales, strategic account management and product marketing.
Spiros holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing from Boston College.
Global Director, Wealth Management
Randy Bullard leads and oversees the Charles River Wealth Management business globally. He is responsible for the product strategy and growth of the business with a heavy focus on client satisfaction. Before joining Charles River, Bullard served as General Manager of Wealth Management at SigFig and prior to that, founded Placemark Investments, a leading provider of wealth management programs and services for wealth management firms across the US and Canada. He has been involved in developing and operating large-scale wealth management programs for firms including Wells Fargo, UBS and Smith Barney Consulting Group.
Managing Director, Head of Americas
As Head of Americas, Matt oversees sales, client management, product marketing, and business development for Charles River. Matt joined the firm in 2004 and has held both sales and product roles within the company. Through these positions, he has had a strategic role in helping to expand Charles River’s Americas organization and client base. Matt previously held consultant and technology positions at Accenture and OM Technology and holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.
Managing Director, Global
Tom Driscoll oversees global sales, marketing and business development as well as EMEA and Asia Pacific operations at Charles River. Tom joined the firm in 1994 and has helped grow its global organization and client base. Tom previously served as CFO for a private equity firm, and managed sales, marketing and client services for Greystone Technology. Tom holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and an MS in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University.
Managing Director, Product Management, Wealth
Cem leads Charles River’s private wealth product management team and provides direction and thought leadership for wealth management-related functionality, including modeling and optimization. Cem has been with the company for 13 years and has worked in many parts of Charles River IMS, including the portfolio management and FX trading areas. Before joining Charles River, Cem was a Head Trader and Portfolio Manager at Cobblestone Capital Advisors. Cem holds an MBA in Finance and Statistics from Rochester Institute of Technology and is a CFA charter holder.
Managing Director, Asia-Pacific
Cameron Field oversees the firm’s Asia-Pacific region. Since joining Charles River in 2000, Cameron has helped establish and grow both European and Asia-Pacific operations. Previously, Cameron served in management roles at Macintosh Hamson Hoare Govett, Bankers Trust Australia, ANZ Treasury, Princeton Financial Systems, and State Street Australia Ltd. Cameron graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, and holds a BBus in Business Banking and Finance from Monash University.
Vice President, Operations
Ed is responsible for the creation, development, delivery, management, and support of multiple global Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for Charles River IMS. Prior to joining Charles River, Ed was Senior Vice President of Technology Services at Harte-Hanks and Vice President of Technology Services at Wheelhouse Corporation. Ed holds a BA in Economics and Computers from Tufts University and an MBA with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from Bentley University.
Managing Director for SaaS Operations and Support
Dmitriy Ilyin oversees all Charles River SaaS and Technical Support teams globally. In addition, Dmitriy leads Charles River’s continuing transition to Microsoft® Azure and will help shape the firm’s strategic cloud direction and growth strategy. Prior to joining Charles River in 2020, Dmitriy led the Technical Operations team at Intralinks, a FinTech provider for M&A services, where he transformed the operations support organization into the site reliability engineering discipline and built global follow-the-sun operations centers to support a hybrid data center-based and public cloud model. He also developed an ITSM practice focused on driving operational excellence.
Senior Vice President, Global Head of Cloud
Kishore is responsible for Cloud Strategy and Engineering within Charles River’s global Software as a Service (SaaS) solution structure. Prior to joining Charles River, Kishore was Global Head of Development Operations at State Street Corporation. Kishore began his career at State Street in 1998, and is an experienced Development and Operations technologist. Kishore has led a number of initiatives at State Street including: Global Application Resilience, Maintenance & Support (ARMS), DevOps Enablement (CI/CD/CO), IT Operations Automation, Application Resiliency Engineering and Information Delivery Development and Continuous Improvement programs. Kishore holds a BS in Computer Science & Engineering from AITCE.
Head of Product Management
Tim Kelly joined Charles River in 1999 and oversees Charles River’s product management, program management, and user experience functions. Tim provides strategic leadership for the product strategy, roadmap planning, requirements, design and development of Charles River’s enterprise front and middle office platform. Previously, Tim held management positions at Cadence Design Systems and Teradyne. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.
Managing Director, Product Management, Middle Office
Karl guides the Middle Office strategy for Charles River. He leads the development of the compliance, trade matching and settlement, IBOR, performance measurement and attribution, and collateral management solutions for the firm. Karl also oversees the development of Data-related offerings at Charles River. He previously led fixed income trading, OTC derivatives trading, analytics, scenario analysis, and risk initiatives for the company. Karl has over 20 years of experience delivering global software projects and products. Prior to joining Charles River, Karl managed strategic data and evaluated pricing services projects for Interactive Data Corporation (now ICE). He holds a BS in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Head of Delivery, Global
Dean Landis is a senior vice president at State Street Corporation and Global Head of Delivery of Charles River Development. In this role, he is responsible for leading the professional services, technical support, compliance advisory and training teams. Dean joined the firm in 2013 as a Director in the Americas where he focused on helping expand Charles River’s services organization while overseeing strategic client relationships, deployments and upgrades. Dean was previously a leader in the Capital Markets consulting practice of SunGard and a management consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University.
Managing Director, EMEA
Gavin Lavelle oversees the firm’s Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Previously he was CEO of Brady PLC. Before that Gavin held senior executive positions at SunGard within their Risk Management division and at RioFin. Gavin graduated from the University of Southampton and holds a BSC in Math and Computer Science.
Vice President of Engineering
Gerald Lilly provides strategic leadership to Charles River’s engineering organization. Since joining Charles River in 2004 as a Principal Software Engineer, Gerald has led teams and directed initiatives in all areas of software engineering. Gerald previously served in design and development roles at OneSource and Microsoft. He holds a BSCHE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Managing Director, Product Management, Front Office
Steve has been with Charles River for over 14 years and in his current role oversees the development of Portfolio Management and Trading-related modules within the CRIMS. Prior to his current role Steve was mandated with the development of the latest version of Manager Workbench portfolio management application. Earlier in his time at Charles River, he led pre-sales efforts in the Americas as a senior sales engineer. Prior to joining Charles River, Steven was a business analyst at DST International, and an investment consultant at UBS. Steven holds a BS in Finance from Lehigh University – College of Business and Economics.
