Charles River® News & Updates

Note from Charles River CEO Spiros Giannaros

At just over the halfway point of the year, I wanted to reflect briefly on the progress we’ve made at Charles River.  Starting with people, we’ve continued to hire aggressively, including for some key positions: Nidhi Singh as our Chief Product Officer, Jon Hansen as Chief Architect, Edda Son as Head of Middle Office, and Tanys Lancaster as Head of Client Management for EMEA. Matt Daly was promoted to Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for client success and driving growth through all channels. We’re continuing to onboard new clients to Charles River along with migrating existing clients onto our Microsoft Azure platform. We brought on over 25 new clients in the first half of the year, have migrated 60 clients to Azure and we have 11 clients live in State Street AlphaSM .

We’ve welcomed the return to in-person collaboration with our offices open for hybrid work globally and our subject matter experts going onsite with clients and speaking at industry events. Getting back onsite has also afforded me the ability to meet in person with many of you to hear about the challenges you are facing and where you see opportunities for growth. Several themes that come up in my conversations with clients and across State Street are diversification through private markets as well as digital, ESG, ETFs, and managing different types of products in the wealth space. The underlying theme I consistently notice is the need for the right data, delivered to the right people at the right time. This kind of insight is invaluable – it informs our product expansion and enhancements in all areas, I would encourage you to watch some of our recent webinars on data to learn more about what we have done and have planned, as well as an upcoming webinar with Snowflake on the intersection of data, technology and ESG in financial services. We will also continue to expand and deepen our work with partners such as Factset and Rimes.

You have also told us that you want more training opportunities and more flexibility in how to consume training, so our Educational Services team is pleased to be launching a new training platform, CRD Academy. While we have always offered online training, we now have more options to make learning accessible for our post-pandemic hybrid work environment, cutting down on travel and time away from the office.

Looking ahead, we’ve begun planning the next Client Connect event in November. Our last Client Connect, held in June, was a success, with nearly 500 clients in attendance to participate in 10 presentations featuring 30 speakers and 11 product demos. We hope even more of you will join us at our next Client Connect event in November. Stay tuned for details.
