Systems Analyst
To better serve the growing demand for our managed service offerings – Remote Application Management, Hosted Application Management, and Software as a Service (SaaS) – we are expanding nationally and have recently opened a new location in Indianapolis. We are actively seeking a Systems Analyst to join our team. This is a client-facing, business and technical staff position responsible for managing all aspects of production Charles River IMS systems for multiple clients as part of Charles River Managed Services.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with Clients, provide expert level remote management, administration and support for Client production Charles River IMS solutions, including:
- Client assistance in optimal use of the system
- User administration/privileges
- Parameter configuration changes
- System availability
- Application and database performance tuning
- Daily operational processing monitoring and support
- Charles River IMS and database software patches
- Charles River IMS version upgrades
- Assistance with problem support and resolution
- Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery assistance
- Working with CRD colleagues to smoothly transition new Clients to production operation
- Working with vendors as partners to deliver a tightly integrated, seamless service to Charles River Clients
- Participation in the development and on-going refinement, enhancement and continuous process improvement for the services
- Participation in the investigation, implementation, and operation of 3rd party tools to enhance/improve, automate, and streamline the delivery of the services
Requirements:
- Experience in managing and supporting mission critical production software applications is required Additional experience with any of the following software is desired, in order of preference:
1) Charles River IMS,
2) non-Charles River Trade Order Management, or
3) Investment management related software
- Experience in MS SQL Server, Oracle, and/or Sybase database configuration, operations, and basic administration functions
- Proven ability to work in a mission-critical operations and support environment
- Experience or familiarity with servers and networks is preferred
- Proven ability to partner with various internal departments to deliver superior customer service.
- Periodic off-hours support
- Occasional travel to customer sites for planning and review meetings
Qualifications:
- Experience managing and supporting mission critical production software applications
- Database software or IT technical experience
- Charles River IMS or securities trading software experience is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills, technical troubleshooting skills, and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- A background in portfolio management and trading system applications is preferred
- Any experience with the following is preferred: databases, server operating systems, servers, networks, job scheduling software, system monitoring software, clusters/high availability systems, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity, FIX
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
